The written application consists of open questions that help us get a sense of who you are, what are your skills and why you’re passionate about entrepreneurship.
We’re excited and want to get to know you and better understand your motivation for entrepreneurship and why you want to join our community.

At START Vienna, new members join a one-month MVP-building sprint where they dive into interactive workshops and inspiring VC visits, learning the essentials of pitching, scaling, and recruiting. The sprint ends with a final pitch in front of successful entrepreneurs from the startup world.
Once the sprint ends, you officially become a STARTie. This means joining one of our departments, invest around seven hours per week and help shape the direction of START Vienna. You’ll collaborate closely with other members, take on responsibility, and keep developing your skills as part of a dynamic and supportive team.

We’re looking for ambitious students with skills, ideas, and a passion for growth. From business and computer science to medicine, aerospace, architecture, and biochemistry, our members bring diverse expertise and unique perspectives to our community. Whether you’ve launched a startup, led impactful projects, or have bold ideas waiting to be explored, we want to hear your story. What truly matters is your drive to contribute, spark for innovation, and commitment to personal and community growth.
Of course, our members come from a variety of fields, not just from business backgrounds.

Yes. The membership fee is €15 per semester. This small contribution helps us cover organizational costs and ensures that we can continue to provide high-quality events, workshops, and resources for our community.
You will choose one of our departments to become an active member and take on different projects. By doing this, you will have a chance to practice proactive project management and execution, and develop new department specific hard skills like building automations, designing a marketing campaign, partner acquisition, event organization or recruiting of new members.
You should be comfortable in speaking English, since this is STARTs main language of communication
There's no fixed hourly requirement for your investment. We emphasize an active community, ensuring that the projects you undertake at START Vienna help you gain valuable skills for your entrepreneurial journey. In essence, you get out of your time at START Vienna what you put in. Most active members invest between 7 and 15 hours per week. You have to be active for the first full semester, and in the second or third semester (you can take a one-semester break, if your are abroad or do an internship).
We are happy to connect with students passionate about innovation and entrepreneurship of all backgrounds, as well as partners open to collaboration with driven students and looking for stellar talent in Vienna’s ecosystem.
